Potato chips (crisps), peanut butter, corn dogs, and spam are all American inventions. Pizza, hot dogs, and fried chicken aren't. But, we did improve on them.

So what's so American about apple pie?
It's a British dish.
And while we're on the subject, what's so American about Hamburgers,Frankfurters,Weiner Schnitzel,Bagels,Tacos,Chilli,Spaghetti...need I go on?
The only dish the Yanks invented was Chop Suey.

I would normally agree that small and local would probably be better than a chain, but in the case of a place like this it will probably be pretty bad.

That's not actually American. ESPECIALLY when it serves kebab...only Middle Eastern and Greek restaurants serve kebab here. Those are Brits trying to do American food...which is something that they are terrible at!

You favour going to a large American chain for conveyor belt food rather than a small, family run establishment who serve home-made food??? Who are you...Lloyd Grossman?

You must be kidding. It's getting so that the smaller, better-class quick food is harder to find because of the American chains. Less choice.
